Harvest Moon Logo
The Harvest Moon is the full moon which occurs closest to the date of the autumnal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. This moon was named the Harvest Moon because the extra light at night was an asset to farmers who were harvesting their crops. Harvest – (verb) is the gathering in of a crop (i.e. grain, fruit, fish, etc.). Harvest (noun) refers to the actual crop. In addition, the word harvest can describe the outcome of any effort. The harvest symbol was chosen to represent the therapeutic process. A therapist can be a guide who teaches clients how to harvest their own spiritual fruits (planted by God, Creator, Allah, Source, etc.) in order to nourish and rejuvenate themselves. The fruits are positive things like talent, inner strength, intelligence, confidence, etc. The harvest is directly related to how much work and sacrifice a client makes throughout the therapeutic process. The therapist can serve as a guide and provide emotional support throughout this journey, however the client must assume full responsibility for the outcome in order to yield an abundant harvest. Moon – Personally, moonlight is a reminder that God’s light still shines even in darkness. Circles are commonly used in many cultures to represent balance and wholeness. Ms. Gaudet is a member of an artist organization known as the group at Sherman Mills.
